Osprey blocks are a 3 week courses that students get to chose. They are designed to be a deep dive into a certain topic where a student can immerse themselves without other school work. The Baja Bound Osprey Block was a Spanish language and Spanish speaking culture block where students learned Spanish, then traveled to Todos Santos, Mexico to practice their skills. We learned how to order food and ask for help, how to greet people and how to talk about ourselves and Durango. Once in Mexico, we visited a local high school and an elementary school where we could talk with students our age and teach an art lesson. We also toured Todos Santos, went to a cooking class, and swam with sea lions! The whole trip and block was an exciting adventure where we learned more about our world and expanded our language skills.
