This project has been a lot of fun, but I have run into a few problems. Last week we began wrapping up our 20% projects and I had a lot to do. I didn't have a lot of time in school to work on my project because all the other classes are doing final projects as well. To solve this problem I used my Digital Arts time for my 20% project. This worked because my project is a stop motion video, a type of digital art, and the only requirement for our digital arts final project was that it had to use digital art. This was great and I was able to get a lot done last week. All of my photos are uploaded and strung together.
My next step is to film an intro to my video and to add music. My plan for the intro is to make brownies with my title on top. It can slowly come out of the oven and say what the video is. This will also be stop motion. I also need a little music in the background. Because there is not sound or talking in the video, I will need a little more entertainment in the form of music. I am near the end of my project and everything is wrapping up, so I don't need very much help. Something that I need to figure out is my music. I was think of using free online music or making my own. Using the free music will give me good music that is easy to work with, but making my own music will be fun and a bit harder. In the end it will all work out.

I have made a lot of progress this week. I took pictures from baking cookies and bread, so this week I can put them all together and start editing the video. It has been a little challenging working with the video because a lot of photos become very little film. I took over 500 pictures and it turned into 1:30. I started making duplicates of each picture to lengthen the video, but these will be very short in the end.
My three wins for the project so far are finishing taking pictures of baking, starting to put the video together, and getting to bake for school. This has been a fun project that has taught me a lot about baking. A question I have is, how are we going to present this at the end of the unit? Or is it something that we aren't going to present? On the 30th we discussed our ideas and made small revisions, and I have decided to use stop motion to film my baking. I made my first experiment/draft and learned a lot. The stop motion is fast, so I have to take lots of pictures. My video was 30 seconds long and 300 frames. In the future I will arrange the pictures to take more time and to show more.
Today I will find what to bake next and research more about stop motion. I need to learn more about video making. If I can make just one high quality video, I will be happy. From now on I want to make a video a week. This week I will finish my first full video. I would like to make bread this week, normal bread - not sourdough. When I first started this project, I thought I would create a business about baking to teach others how to create their own businesses. I realized that this project sounded boring and not very fun, so I decided to make a baking show to teach people about baking and the history/science behind it.
Today I am researching sourdough and will write a script for my sourdough video. I think I will be making sourdough bread. By the end of the week I want to have the footage for my first video and the script written out for next weeks video. Today we began writing up our proposals for our projects. I want to create a baking show that helps people learn to bake in a fun, creative way. I finished my proposal and turned it in to Stephen.
I bake all the time, so this would not be a super difficult project. I am a little worried about filming, I don't want it to look bad. |
